UA S.T.A.R. Certification means these technicians have completed a stringent 5 year training program and passed the UA S.T.A.R. Certification exam, giving them service journeyman status and 30 hours of college credit towards an Associates Degree in HVACR or Construction Supervision. The UA S.T.A.R. Program was developed jointly by the UA and Ferris State University - one of the most highly acclaimed providers of education programs in the heating and cooling industries.
Technicians participate in the only HVSCR technician training and exam program of its kind that's ANSI-accredited and ISO 9000 certified - meaning the UA STAR technicians has passed the toughest standards in the industry.

UA S.T.A.R. was established by the United Association of the Plumbing, Pipefitting and Sprinkler fitting industry of the United States and Canada. The UA is a multi-craft union representing pipe fitters, sprinkler fitters, service technicians and plumbers. Members are engaged in the fabrication, installation and servicing of all piping systems. There are in excess of 300,000 highly-skilled UA members who belong to over 400 individual local unions across North America. Founded in 1889, the UA is one of the most respected and influential building trades union in the U.S. and Canada.
